Sanjay Vijayakumar

is the Prime Minister’s Champion of Change (Education) and Co-Founder of Pupilfirst, an open-source technology company that carries a mandate from the Indian Higher Education Regulator to train 100,000 faculty and 24 million students in emerging technologies and realise the vision of the National Educational Policy 2020.

Sanjay represents India at the bilateral Indo-US Science and Technology Forum set up by the Department of Science and Technology, the Government of India and the US Embassy. He is a member of the Empowered Committee at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology for the implementation of startups scheme across academic institutions in the country.

A Board Member of Kerala State Technological University, Sanjay co-authored India’s first startup policy for the State of Kerala in 2014, followed by advisory roles for the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to implement similar policies. He deepened this work by Co-Authoring India’s National Student Startup Policy in 2017.

Sanjay is a Rajeev Motwani Fellow, a scholar of Aspen Institute, a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and an Asia Society Fellow. India Today has rated Sanjay as one of the 37 Indians driving the future of India, and he has been named to the Just 30 Club by Forbes.

Sanjay now works with the leadership team at All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)to build and scale the Leadership in Teaching Excellence (LITE) programme to train 100,000 faculty and bring the vision of National Education Policy 2020 from the realm of policy to reality.
