Maria was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and grew up in Frederick, MD, where she completed her undergraduate studies in Biology and Eastern Philosophy and graduate studies in Biomedical Sciences. She is a graduate of Dr. Lad’s Ayurvedic Institute of New Mexico and founder of the New Mexico School of Yoga. Maria has not only been a long-time personal friend, but also my Yoga teacher and I’ve attended several weekend workshops taught on Ayurveda-Yoga. She is certainly one of the best Yoga Asana instructors and one of the few who is integrating Ayurveda with Yoga. She is truly a leader in this field.
