Always beginning with stepping back and surrender
Hi folks,
I just had a conversation with Vladimir about this in our last “Integral Paradigm of Knowledge” meeting. He agreed it would be a good way to start all our discussions.
I’d personally love to see all discussion of qualities (well, really, all discussions of anything related to living a Divine Life) begin with two fundamental movements, as well as a third basic movement of integral living:
SPIRITUAL
To step back into vast, open, spacious Silence, Stillness, into peace, equanimity. Widening attention, shifting back from absorption in the contents of thoughts, images, ideas, beliefs, emotions, instincts, sensations, into the borderless, bourneless pure Consciousness in which “we live and move and have our being.”
PSYCHIC
To open our hearts, to allow the spontaneous aspiration of our deepest, innermost being to open us to feel the dynamic Presence of Love pervading our being, pervading the world, with profound gratitude welling up from our consciousness.
PURIFICATION:
To be brave, persistent, courageous, vigilant and sincere in SEEING, recognizing acknowledging our fears, our anger, irritation, sadness,loneliness, craving, resistance, laziness, etc – meeting it with calm, equanimity, acceptance and love, spontaneously offering it all as we rest in that infinite spiritual wideness and vastness and infinite love and surrendered Delight that we have recognized ourselves to be.

Really appreciate your suggestion Don! And we should remember to invoke the presence of the Mother and Sri Aurobindo at the beginning of each session!
