In his writings in “Bande Mataram”, Sri Aurobindo wrote: “India is the guru of the nations, the physician of the human soul in its profounder maladies; she is destined once more to new-mould the life of the world and restore the peace of the human spirit.” In those days and even in the last decade, it would have been a bit hard to believe this vision. But, as it is said, the 21st century is India’s. We see it manifesting in our lives. India may not be accepted as a guru until it becomes a friend and wins the love and confidence of the world. Today, India’s attitude and policies are winning hearts and we are emerging as a friend who is sought after. In life we reach out to a friend in need, so is the world looking towards India for help. It only points towards fulfilling what Sri Aurobindo wrote on 5th March 1908.
