Part III: The Psychic Being after leaving the body, Death and Its Place in Integral Yoga

The most profound topic of our life worth pondering upon is death. We are constantly dying and by dying we are born again. Death is a perpetual way of Life in time and space of the Immortal Spirit, otherwise, it could not sustain in time and space in this physical form. The form is imperfect therefore it must be rebuilt, and the spirit must be born again in a new form.

To let go of that which has no future is the wisdom of life. Death is like a quality control over the progress made by the Spirit in the imperfect form toward Immortality, for It does not permit any imperfect form to endure. It is a power that removes all worked-out materials, cleansing space and time from outdated forms by reforging them into new forms. Therefore, the universe is always new and fresh, as it were. Without death, the Immortal Being would not be able to manifest in material form. This mismatch of Spirit and Form creates the phenomenon of becoming and the evolution of Consciousness in Matter.

Nāsato vidyate bhāvo nābhāvo vidyate sataH – says Krishna in the Gita – “there is no becoming of the one who IS NOT, and there is no unbecoming of the one who [always] IS.”

In this part of our webinar series, we shall explore the phenomenon of Death in the light of Integral Yoga.
