Dr. Sailaja Akella, D.O.

Dr. Akella specializes in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry which places her in a unique position to not only understand the multidimensional milestones that one will likely traverse upon entering into this time frame but also the emotional and mental challenges that can shape the trajectory as one exits and transitions to adulthood. Her treatment approach is guided by the principle of discovering ones’ intrapsychic conflict and manifesting change through a comprehensive recommendation that includes lifestyle changes, therapy and integrative medicine.

Dr. Akella is a graduate of New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her psychiatry residency and fellowship was completed at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine in Glen Oaks, N.Y. She also completed a fellowship in Integrative and Holistic Medicine at the Academy of Integrative and Holistic Medicine in San Diego, Ca.
