Dr. Frawley (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri)
Dr. David Frawley (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri) is Vedic teacher (Vedacharya) and author of over forty published books on Yoga, Ayurveda, and Vedic studies translated into twenty languages worldwide.
Vamadeva received a Padma Bhushan award from the govt. of India for his Vedic educational work. He has a Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) from S-VYASA (Bangalore) and from Ram Manohar Lohia Ayodhya University. He received a National Eminence award from the South Indian Education Society (SIES) in Mumbai.
He has been one of the main teachers bringing Yoga, Ayurveda and Jyotish to the West, helping to found programs, schools and associations throughout the world.
He has been a student of Sri Aurobindo’s work for over fifty years. MP Pandit, the then secretary of the Aurobindo Ashram, began publishing his Vedic translations in Sri Aurobindo publications in 1980.
