Vikram Gandhi

Vikram Gandhi is the creator of Kumaré: The True Story of a False Prophet, a social experiment that investigates humanity’s desire to believe in spiritual leaders. In Kumaré, Vikram impersonates a religious leader from the East who finds a following of real people in the West. The film reveals the philosophy that spiritual leaders are an illusion and the real guru is inside each person. The documentary film won the Audience Award at South By Southwest in 2011, was released internationally, and is now taught in Religious Studies in universities around the world. Vikram has spoken about the power of belief at TED, InkTalks India, Wired UK, Founders Forum, and dozens of conferences. Vikram is also an Emmy Award-winning news correspondent on HBO’s Vice and the director/producer of multiple non-fiction films and television series.
