Foundations of Indian Culture: Philosophy of Upanishads

Course Overview

The Vision of Upanishads is regarded as the highest among the greatest philosophical systems in the world. Great German philosopher Schopenhauer wrote: “The Upanishads were my refuge in life and will be my refuge in death.” This Intuitive Knowledge became the foundation for the whole Indian Spiritual and Religious Tradition and plays the central role in Integral Yoga Psychology.

This course is designed for yoga practitioners and teachers, philosophers and psychologists. It overviews the fundamentals of Indian Philosophy and the intuitive approaches to Yoga and Metaphysical Psychology in the light of Sri Aurobindo.

This course is every Wednesday for 10 weeks.

Each session is 1-hour and recorded and available to participants. 

COURSE STARTS September 7 and ends November 1.  HOWEVER YOU MAY REGISTER AT ANY TIME AND RECEIVE PREVIOUS RECORDED SESSIONS.

  2. To discover a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of Indian Spirituality, and a comprehensive overview of the functionality of Consciousness in the light of Integral Yoga of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother.

Presentations of the topics and Q&A sessions at the end of each presentation.
Following up on the reading material recommended for the sessions.
Discussing the topics among themselves in groups

Evaluation

Reflective Quizzes on different topics
Short essays of about 600 words at the end of the course
