Spirituality is a wider thing than formal religion and it is in the service of spirituality that Art reaches its highest self-expression. Spirituality is a single word expressive of three lines of human aspiration towards divine knowledge, divine love and joy, divine strength, and that will be the highest and most perfect Art which, while satisfying the physical requirements of the aesthetic sense, the laws of formal beauty, the emotional demand of humanity, the portrayal of life and outward reality, reaches beyond them and expresses inner spiritual truth, the deeper not obvious reality of things, the joy of God in the world and its beauty and desirableness and the manifestation of divine force and energy in phenomenal creation. Sri Aurobindo, The Hour of God: The National Value of Art – V
Sri Aurobindo and the Mother both refer to Sanskrit as the language that represents the soul of India. One of the characteristic features of India’s soul as revealed in the Vedas is her deep quest for fundamental truths. The Sanskrit language literally meaning ‘perfectly done’ seems to capture this truth-quality and manifests it at every level of its expression. This presentation will seek to present Sanskrit as a yoga in itself and talk of its role for the future of humanity.

Join Aurelio for a discussion of SVARAM, a Centre for the Craft, Art and Science of Sound.
The SVARAM Center is emerging from the original Musical Instruments Manufacture, initiated in 2003 as a grassroots development project in the field of musical instrument craft, art, research and socio-cultural impact. Initially started as a vocational opportunity for youth at risk, in 2011 the UN Initiative “Music as a Global Resource” adopted it as one of first 50 projects working worldwide towards achievement of the Millennium Goals through socio-cultural-creative enterprising approaches.
Currently, Svaram is in the process of creating a versatile center on dedicated land in the Auroville Galaxy plan, as a cutting-edge facility and unique curriculum to advance sound innovation, research and practices for education, personal growth, well-being and human unity.

In the new music, one will experience the mantric force that calls into manifestation the supernal bliss, the grace ever-present in our lives that rarely we feel and seldom acknowledge. The music of the future has begun, and one can catch its subtle notes in those subtle realms where silence reigns, but its plenitude awaits our receptivity to the Divine’s behest. It is a music of force and majesty scored with divine humility. The Mother brought down its first tremendous notes into the rhythmic pulse of earth’s awakening.
